About

I've always been drawn to the intersection of technology and impact — building things that work for people who are often underserved by the tech industry's defaults. My career has taken me from writing code for Nollywood's first streaming platforms to co-founding a restaurant tech company backed by Visa and Techstars. Along the way, I've learned that great products come from deep empathy, relentless iteration, and the willingness to wear every hat in the room.

The Journey

A career built across startups, scale-ups, and everything in between.

2008 – 2011 United Bank for Africa

Where It All Started

Led the UBA Group Web Transformation project, standardising brand presence across subsidiaries. Built a CMS that cut website deployment time to 48 hours and saved $150K annually. Conducted training across Africa to enable adoption and shaped the Group's online strategy.

“Scale reveals the gaps in your process that small teams never notice.”

2011 – 2012 IROKO Partners

The Builder Origins

Designed and built irokotv.com and iroking.com — two of the first platforms to bring Nollywood online. Increased platform adoption by 80% through targeted digital marketing. This is where the product instinct began — understanding that code was just the means, not the end.

“Great products come from obsessing over users, not features.”

2012 – 2015 Kuluya Games

The Founder Chapter

Founded and led a VC-backed mobile gaming startup delivering African-themed titles. Recruited and managed a cross-functional team of developers, animators, and illustrators. Learned the hard lessons that only come from being the one whose name is on the company.

“Founding a company teaches you more in one year than five years of employment.”

2015 – 2018 IrokoTV

Product Leadership

Shifted an entire company's strategy from diaspora audiences to African markets with the 'Beyond-Data' strategy. Grew African subscribers from 15% to 70% of the user base. Deployed offline kiosks across 3 countries and negotiated telco partnerships with MTN, Safaricom, and Orange.

“The best product decisions are the ones that look obvious in hindsight.”

2018 – 2020 Blackbet, Betty Holdings

Scaling Across Markets

Rolled out a gaming platform across 8 African countries — Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique, Cameroon, and DRC. Set up local payment services, delivered a complete UX redesign, and achieved 200% gross gaming revenue growth within three months.

“Speed is a competitive advantage, but only if you're moving in the right direction.”

2020 – 2024 Orda Africa

Co-Founding Orda Africa

Co-founded a vertically integrated restaurant ERP platform for African food businesses. Secured Techstars Denver. Raised $7M including a strategic investment from Visa. Scaled to 1,500+ restaurants across Nigeria and Kenya. Built fintech integrations, credit scoring, and sourced hardware from Chinese OEMs.

“The best products solve real problems for real people in the real world.”
